Description

The election of Karol Wojtyla to the Papacy meant the end of his wanders in nature just as his death meant the end of his earthly life. Consider this - he is by far more alive in the hearts of millions and he is surely still wandering around, neither alone nor accompanied by his closest friends, but in the company of everyone who steps out looking for spiritual communion and admiration of the world.

This album has been created for those who would like a glance at Poland in the context of the places lived, visited and trails that Saint John Paul II took during his life. First as a young boy, then a seminary student, a priest, an archbishop and finally a cardinal. From among numerous trails named after John Paul II the authors have selected twenty one. Solely twenty one but those of special significance to the Pope.

The selection of those places/trails has been made so as to diversify them according to their geographical location and thus the character of the landscape as well as the kind of physical activity they require. Turning the pages of the album you can take a stroll across the Polish mountains, from the smalles Bieszczady, through the Beskids to the Tatry mountains. You can also kayak through Masuria and Drawa Lake Districts, the region of Suwalki or Tuchola Pinewoods. You can ride a bike around Lesser Poland or Lower Silesia or take a stroll in Wadowice and Cracow. If you feel like doing these all in reality, you can, just look at the map attached to each trail. However, bear in mind that the best guideposts have been given to us by Saint John Paul II throughout his life and teaching.
