Description
This volume is the work of two authorities and ardent admirers of Warsaw, Edward Falkowski and Olgierd Budrewicz, both Varsovians, as the residents of Warsaw are sometimes called.
Edward Falkowski, a leading photographer, is responsible for the pictures of Warsaw as it was in 1945 --a unique document of the life of the city populatioin among the ruins. He also has taken the colour pictures which depict the life of Varsovians today (1960-70).
These portraits of the people of Warsaw as the appeared at the end of the war and as they appeared in the 60's - 70's are accompanied by a text by Olgierd Budrewicz, writer and publicist and author of a number of books about Warsaw. Mr. Budrewicz has also selected the pictures and arranged them in a lucid and deeply moving story about "Homo Varsoviensis".
