Emilie Vast has two adorable board books celebrating the
relationship between generations. From Mother to Mother uses Russian
matryoshka nesting doll artwork to illustrate ancestry. Narrated as a
mother to a child, each page traces a new branch in the family tree:
from mother’s great-great-grandmother to “my own child”. Each nesting
doll becomes progressively smaller, with the child being the smallest
doll; each doll and its accompanying artwork is a different color, with
unique artwork.
