PACZKI DAY CELEBRATIONS

THE CITY OF HAMTRAMCK DDA CELEBRATES TRADITION WITH

COUNTDOWN TO PACZKI DAY


Hamtramck - It’s Paczki season and the City of Hamtramck is kicking off the tradition with two very special events:

the 5th 5K Paczki Run and the 12th Annual Countdown to Paczki Day celebration.

Both events lead up to Paczki Day when the city’s bakeries, bars and restaurants welcome everyone to be Polish for a day!

5K PACZKI RUN

The run before the big day (Fat Tuesday). Feel better about eating those paczki, or run the route to scout out your favorite place to purchase them.


A guided stretch before the race begins will be provided by Iyengar Yoga Detroit along with an opportunity to register for a free class at their studio in the heated tent!

After the race, runners (21 and older) will get a Beer and Paczek!

COUNTDOWN TO PACZKI DAY CELEBRATION

  • WHEN & WHERE Saturday, February 14th, 10:00am - 2:00pm, in the tent at Jos. Campau and Holbrook

  • LIVE MUSIC - by the Misty Blues

  • HEATED TENT - Polish Dancers! Gwiazda Polish Dancers will preform.

  • Free Paczki - sorry, not all you can eat

  • Paczki Express - taking you from the tent to our many local bakeries and back

  • COST: FREE !!!

Music by the Misty Blues free paczki, Gwiazda Polish Dancers.- it’s a party for the whole family. We will have a special visit by Mr. Paczki himself! Stop by the tent first to taste a sampling from the city’s many bakeries to find your favorite. Then board the Paczki Express and get a jump on the lines and buy your paczki early at one of our fine bakeries. Stay for the day and try one of Hamtramck’s many restaurants or bars. It’s sure to be a fun day for the entire family including grandma, grandpa and the kids!
