Almost all over Europe home-baked cakes are becoming popular anew. You really have to give me the recipe. Poland is a country in which the custom of making cakes at homes has never really vanished. In most homes some home-baked tidbits can be found both on an everyday basis and on special occasions. A fine pie, a cheesecake or a poppy-seed cake give each housewife a reason to be proud. The smell of baking cakes is one of people's favorite smells traditionally associated with the warm atmosphere, tranquility, safety and love of the family home. We would like to welcome you most heartily to the world of Polish cakes which are by no means difficult to make. In this book you will find recipes for, among other things, the delicious cheesecakes and poppy-seed cakes which are usually made for Christmas and the yeast "babkas" without which Easter would not be complete.
