Polish wooden plates are made from Linden wood in the mountain region of southern Poland called Podhale. The plates are cut and shaped on a lathe by hand. The floral designs are burned into the wood before staining and varnishing. All the flowers are surrounded by inlaid brass as well as the exterior ring. They are delightful works of folk art to be cherished for generations.  Each plate is made by hand so no two are exactly alike.  Colors and patterns vary.
