Hand Carved Wooden Butter/Cheese Mold - Oscypek 2

Made in Zakopane this two part mold is still in use in the villages and farms of southern Poland. Since this is the old fashioned method it takes a little more skill to use than the plastic form.

Made in Zakopane this two part mold is still in use in the villages and farms of southern Poland. Since this is the old fashioned method it takes a little more skill to use than the plastic form. One of our customers sent us some foolproof instructions for use with butter (not cheese). Here they are:

1. Wash the insides before use and dry thoroughly.
2. Spray the insides with a light coating of Pam Spray (He recommends the butter flavor). Brush out any excess Pam.
3. Place mold in freezer for no more than 2 hours.
4. Fill mold with room temperature butter and squeeze in well.
5. Place filled mold back in freezer for 4-5 hours.
6. Remove from freezer and apply a hot iron to one side of mold for 20 seconds.
7. Open mold and pop out. 8. Enjoy!
