Joe Oberiatis: Born in Cleveland Ohio, Joe Oberitis is third generation. His grandfather Joseph Kulig was from Iwkowska and played the accordion in Poland and was reported to be quite the singer. Many feel his spirit lives on in Joe Oberaitis' deep love for Polish music. Joe truly believes Polish music is the most beautiful music in the world!
When Joe Oberaitis saw Albina Kuras perform on TV Polonia, he instantly fell in love with her. He feels Albina is the consummate folk artist, conveying the real soul and beauty of Polish folk music. He was thrilled to meet such a wonderful person and perform and record with her and her family. The Joe Oberaitis Band was formed in 1970 and has performed at Polish clubs and festivals all over the United States and Canada. Also, Joe has been a staff musician for Walt Disney Entertainment Inc. in Florida for over thirty years!
