Professor Skitnicki is Department Head of Hematology of Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. In addition to his tremendous scientific accomplishments in the prevention and treatment of blood illnesses, Dr. Skitnicki has devoted his life to Polish-Jewish and Polish-Israeli relations and reconciliation.  Skotnicki has been a prominent leader in the creation of photographic exhibitions detailing  Poland's Jewish Community prior to World War II, the Nazi and Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939 and occupied Krakow during WWII.  Dr. Skotnicki's grandparents are among Poland's Righteous; rescuers who hid Jews during the Holocaust.
