Made in Zakopane this one part mold is still in use in the villages and farms of southern Poland. This butter mold is made by hand from high-quality linden wood.
Carvings are done by hand and may vary slightly from our picture.

Before using the first time the insides of the mold should be coated with hot cooking oil. Since this is the old fashioned method it takes a little more skill to use than the plastic form.

One of our customers sent us some foolproof instructions. Here they are:
1. Spray the insides with a light coating of Pam Spray (He recommends the butter flavor). Brush out any excess Pam.
2. Place mold in freezer for no more than 2 hours.
3. Fill mold with room temperature butter and squeeze in well.
4. Place filled mold back in freezer for 4-5 hours.
5. Remove from freezer and apply a hot iron to one side of mold for 20 seconds.
6. Open mold and pop out your chick.
7. Enjoy! Clean the mold with water and mild detergent after use. Do not soak the item when washing. Item is not safe for use in dishwasher.
