Description

An ancient Slavonic custom to welcome the forthcoming spring called "Maik" or "Nowelatko" (New Summer).  It consists of carrying a sappy tree, trimmed with ribbons and tinsel, through the village on the Tuesday after Easter, at Pentecost or at the beginning of May.  The participants of that festivity, mostly children and girls, walked from one farmhouse to another, wishing good luck and singing occasional songs. Where ever your tastes lie, from the Goral Szczawnica Man, to a depiction of a Harvest Festival in Dozynki.  Whether you're adding to a collection or just starting one out. These dolls are perfect, clothed in authentic regional folk costumes, as certified by the Polish Ministry of Culture. These traditional Polish dolls are completely handmade. Notice the fine attention to detail and workmanship.   To prevent damage in shipping, some parts may be shipped un-assembled.  Assembly is easy but will require a little white glue like Elmer's.
