There is nothing quite like the aroma of Polish forest mushrooms to bring back memories of Christmas eve dinner. They add a perfect flavor to home made bigos, kapusta or mushroom soup. No other mushroom is the same. These are Category 1 Borowiki (Boletus Edulis) forest mushrooms.
These borowik mushrooms are picked and strung like a necklace according to the size of the head, then dried to preserve. These are Category 1 grade, the highest in Poland.
Soak for at least 24 hours before use for proper hydration. After soaking rinse mushrooms thoroughly to remove all sand and grit. If you choose to use the soaking water for extra flavor make sure to strain through coffee filter or fine cloth.
