From the Collection in the Museum of Central Pomerania in Slupsk
The collection of Witkacy's works in Slupsk, acquired by the Museum of Central Pomerania over a period of thirty years from 1965-1995, constitutes on a part of the artist's output, yet it is undoubtedly the largest collection in Poland. The intent of this volume is not merely to introduce the newest acquisitions of our museum, but also to examine the latest research in the attempt to interpret the artist's work, especially the work of the S.I. Witkiewicz Portrait Firm. The passage of time has proved that its significance is not limited to Polish culture alone. We hope this publication of the work contained in the museum will meet the expectations of the growing ranks of admirers of Witakcy's work.
