Dear Listeners,
It is my privilege to present to you a disc of the musica sacra genre. A recording of Rev. Jerzy Szurbak's Men's Orthodox Church Music Ensemble: Lent and Pasch.  This is indeed musica sacra, in the literal sense of the words, entirely filled with faith - music which is a prayer.
Music and singing play a very special roles in the orthodox liturgy - these are means of expressing faith.  The unique atmosphere of the orthodox chants, the manner of singing, only to be met in the orthodox shrines, appeal to the listeners, also those are not followers of the rite themselves.  Orthodox singing can be said to shine similarly to icons which, even if blackened from time immemorial, glow with a hidden brightness.
