Kasztanki entered Polish living rooms as a hit in the 70's. They quickly appealed to consumers. They are loved equally by the young and old. Delicately covered in dessert chocolate, they conceal a crunchy wafer and cocoa filling Their recipe has not been changed for years. And where does the name come from? It comes from the unique shape of the chocolates, because although the form of Kasztanki may remind one of a sea shell, some people find it to be similar to that of a chestnut (Kasztanki is the Polish word for chestnuts). It is interesting to note that the shape of Kasztanki has been patented and can only be used by Wawel.
