Beautiful hand carved and painted angel by Mieczyslaw Gaja. Our angel is holding the Holy Spirit while kneeling above the world.  Mr Gaja is an accomplished carver who began his career in 1975.  He  is closely associated with the wood carvers school in the town of Lukow (Lukow Carver's Center).   Mr Gaja carves all of his pieces from a single block of wood which are then painted.
