Vilnius - Photographs: GM Studio
Today Vilnius is the capital of independent Lithuania and despite its many architectural pearls, it does not crowd or depress you but on the contrary the city is light, creating the uplifting illusion of openness. Located on the borders of Roman and Byzantine civilization it gave the city its own flavor. Aside from the old inhabitants Lithuanians, you also find here many Slavs - Poles, White Russians and Russians. Vilnius is today, as always, a city of many styles, many nations, comfortable for its citizens as well as guests from the rest of the world. Magnificently illustrated, 80 full color photographs.
