This beautifully illustrated album presents the art of amberwork - an area of artistic craftsmanship relatively unknown not only to the everyday tourist visiting the well-known museums of Europe, but to specialists from closely related fields. Today amber artifacts can be found in various world famous collections, but its origin is quite precisely limited to a few historical production centers focused around the Baltic Sea. Among these, Gdansk and Ksnigsburg were in the forefront of amberwork for hundreds of years. This album includes a complete history of the Baltic amber trade as well as over 100 pages of color photos.
