Its always made me wonder that the distance across Poland, from Szczecin to Przemysl, is as far as it is from Warsaw to Vienna. Picturesquely situated over the river San, this city has been in existance for over a thousand years. The oldest written record of Przemysl goes back to 981 and the letopis annals of Nestor. In the 15th century Jan Dlugosz mentioned the city in his chronicle and reinforced the legend that it had been founded in the 7th century by Prince Przemyslaw. Above all the city is remarkable for its beauty. From the terrace over the San a view stretches out over the old part of the city - which like Rome lies scattered on seven hills - over the spires of its churches and the roofs of it houses.
