Description

Edited by Beata Nycz

For Polish art, the Lithuanian Stasys is what the Spanish Picasso, the Italian Modigliani, or the Russian Jews, Chagall, Zadkine and Soutine were for the Paris school.  Stasys conveys an important thought to us with this beautiful album - - that in life, the truth is that everything is mixed together.  The years and the colors.  Experiences and shapes.  Reality and illusion, facts and fables,  Childhood and adulthood, idyll and disaster.  And that this great mixture is precisely where the world's deepest truth abides.

Stasys Eidrigevicius was born in Mediniskiai, Lithuaniua on July 24, 1949. He completed studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Vilnius, moved to Poland in 1980, and currently lives in Warsaw.  A versatile artist, he practices painting, printmaking, sculpture, poster art and book illustration.  He also creates installations, performances, and theatrical spectacles,  He often adds poetic commentaries to his works.  He has won a degree of renown few living artist enjoy.

This album features 63 of his pastel works in full color with the titles in Polish and English.
