Description

The Culinary Queen - Bona Sforza, the wife of King Zygmunt I, came to Poland from Italy in 1518.  She brought with her many foods which had never been seen in Polish kitchens.  Several vegetables, including celery, leeks and lettuce were first eaten in Poland during her reign.  Born into a powerful Italian family she was a champion of strong royal rule and an able assistant to her Polish king.
(From An Illustrated History Of Poland)

This traditional Polish doll set is completely hand made the old fashioned way with paper mache, dress materials and paints.  The doll is clothed in authentic regional folk custume as certified by the Polish Ministry of Culture.  Notice the attention to detail and fine workmanship.
