Zofia Stryjenska of the Lubanski family was born on May 13, 1891 in Krakow. She studied at various art schools in Poland and finally at the famous Munich School Of Art where she had to disguise herself as a boy in order to gain admittance. She is best known for her paintings of Polish folk art, costumes and dances. This album features 33 of her works that were donated to the Regional Museum of Tarnow. Included are biographies of the artist and that of Rev. Alojzy F Nosal the collector and donor of these works. Text is in Polish and English.
