From the village of Paszyna in the Nowy Sacz area comes this unique example of a regional folk art. This is a ciupaga, a Polish mountaineer's combination mountain axe and walking stick with an axe head and metal tipped end. The wooden body features ornate hand carving, a nicely finished eagle axe head, colorful tassles, metal trim and decorative chain. The carving features a mountaineer's head and his chata (home). Axe head has a protective coating. Protect from denting and dinging. For display only. Do not oil or use any chemical cleaners. Not a toy and not for children. |
