Ta Joj is the name of this 5 member street band who perform in the pre-war style typical of those from the city of Lwow. Lwow was one of Poland's most important cities before WWII located on the southeastern tip of Poland near the Ukrainian border and a center of Polish culture and art that today is part of western Ukraine. There is much sentimentality in Poland today for memories of that place and time. The members of "Ta Joj" live in Przemysl which is very near the border with the Ukraine and perform many of the memorable old "Lwowian" songs from the days of our grandparents on the streets of their "Old Town". Recorded at Polish Radio Rzeszow April 30, 1999. Polish language booklet enclosed.
