Machine-woven wall-hanging (rug) which shows a Polish Lajkonik. The Lajkonik figure represents the Tartars who attacked the city in times past.  He makes an appearance each year at a city festival as a reminder of those days when the city was under constant threat from Tartar attacks.   This throw has a fringe on the right and left hand sides.
