by Teresa Zylis-Gara and Wieslaw Ochman
As popular as they are with composers, Polish carols are even more so with performers, especially with choirs and soloist singers. No wonder therefore that among the carol performers we also find major Polish singers of international reputation. Among them are two distinguished soloists whom we can hear on these recordings: Soprano Teresa Zylis-Gara and tenor Wieslaw Ochman are simply outstanding. The repertoire presented is made up of the best known Polish carols ranging from the 16th to the 19th centuries. Wieslaw Ochman sings with the Warsaw Chamber Orchestra, and Teresa Zylis-Gara is accompanied by an instrumental ensemble and the most famous Polish boy's and men's choir popularly known as the Poznan Nightingales, under conductor Stefan Stuligrosz. All of them, voices of angels!
