These beautifully designed and executed eggs are hand made by our Polish folk artist from Torun, Poland. The technique used is called wax embossing which is similar to the batik method of decorating pisanki using several layers of wax. In this case however the artist uses a pin head type tool which is used to "drop and drag" white wax to form unique designs which are then permanently left on the egg.
In addition, the egg features strategically placed holes to enhance the unique designs.
Duck eggs are stronger and whiter than chicken eggs. We have a large selection and no two eggs are alike.
