This album is a tribute to the memory of General Wladyslaw Sikorski, and was originally published in 1981 on the occasion of the one hundredth anniversary of his birth - a leading statesman and an outstanding soldier in the service of his country and the cause of freedom.
Reprinted in 2003, the album depicts his most active and fruitful years and covers the period from the end of September 1939 until his untimely death at Gibraltar in July 1943; the years of his unceasing and noble effort as the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Polish Forces.
On September 17, 1993 the body of General Sikorski was exhumed from Newark Cemetery, transported with full military honors to Cracow, and interned in the Wawel Castle; the traditional place of burial of Polish kings.
This album contains many original black and white photos and an index of names. Text is in both Polish and English language; quantity limited
