With the enlargement of the Main Building of the National Museum in Krakow, new opportunities opened for staging the first permanent exhibition of the Museum's collection of arms and armour, which in terms of size and significance is second only to the Polish Military Museum in Warsaw. Nine rooms on the elevated ground floor house a total of over 1650 objects arranged by type and period of creation. This arrangement ensures a clear presentation of the nearly one-thousand-year-long history of Polish arms, armours and uniforms.
