A quilt is far more than the fabric and thread that hold it together.  It is a story waiting to be told.

The thread that holds a quilt together is also the thread that intertwines generations of family history.  Some quilts were made to commemorate a special occasion while others were made out of necessity to keep the early settlers warm through harsh Nebraska winters.

Interviews with Nebraska quilters include Paulette Peters from Elkhorn and Mary Ghormley, who is considered by many to be the "grandmother of quilting" in Nebraska.  These women and others help unfold the history of quilting in Nebraska.  "Quilting Nebraska's" engaging stories capture the magic of quilting and what it is that makes such a unique art form.
