Casey Homel has been playing concertina for 35 years. He plays a star concertina. He started at age 15. He never took any lessons. He plays by ear. He was inspired to play the concertina by his uncle, Mike Ryba, from Pulaski, WI. He has played with bands like Lil Wally, Casey Siewierski, Ampolaires, Stas Golonka, Richie Gomulka, Jerry Zahara, Mike Ryba, Concertina All Stars, and he played double concertina with his idle Eddie Zima just about a year before Zima died. He has made 2 LP records on Bel Air and and he has his own record label called Casey Records on which he made 2 LP's and some 45 RPM records. He has recorded with bands like Lil Wally, Stas Golonka, Jerry Zahara, Richie Gomulka and Concertina All Stars. He also has played the trumpet for the last 25 years. He now is playing concertina and trumpet with The Jerry Zahara Orchestra. He's been playing with Jerry's band for 30 years. He also books jobs on his own. He likes to play all the old Eddie Zima and Casey Siewierski tunes.
